Fiona Anokye is a student at the University of Kent, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Linguistics and Business Management. Prior to starting her degree, Fiona has taken on many work experience and internship opportunities in the field of media and business marketing with a desire to work in a relevant field in the future. Fiona’s most recent internship opportunity was in the UK’s most famous global think thank: The Overseas Development Institute, where she took on the position of the Events, Public Affairs and Communications of the organisation and helped organise many influential public events generating talks from child marriages to female youth unemployment in the engineering sectors of both Asia and Africa Regions. Fiona’s path through education hasn’t been easy, having worked part-time since the age of 15 to support herself through secondary school and sixth form studies . She has gained hospitality and retail experiences, that have improved and enhanced her customer service and public speaking skills. Fiona’s career path is always changing and developing based on the opportunities and networks she engages with and one of her most famous works was creating a short documentary for the 1000 Londoners project stemming around the life of a young Londoner and that project led to film screenings, promotions in London and garnered over 100,000+ views on YouTube and counting. Fiona’s Interests span a great deal of industries and she plans to grow her experiences and knowledge in the media market hopefully with the pursuit of a Masters degree following her Bachelors so that she is in a great position to succeed in the future.
